Two (2) easy ways to top-up
Top-up by text directly from your cell phone to short-code 122: • Text the letters rc (space) • followed by the amount of credit you want (space) • followed by your own secret personal identification number (PIN)
Example: to request a top-up of $15 where your PIN is 1234: Text “rc 15 1234” to short code 122 |

What is Top-Up & Go? It’s the new and easiest way to add credit to your prepaid mobile phone. With TopUp & Go, you can top-up your phone using funds taken directly from your account.
Where is TopUp & Go available from? TopUp & Go is a brand new service that is being offered in Barbados. Barbados Public Workers’ Co-operative Credit Union Limited (BPWCCUL) is the first institution to make it available to its customers.
How does it work? Once you have registered your prepaid mobile phone, you can top-up at any time by either sending a text message from your handset or by requesting a top-up at any BPWCCUL Automatic Teller Machine (ATM). The amount of the top-up is deducted automatically from your account.
Is there a fee for this service? No, this service is free!
Is this service available to both Digicel and LIME subscribers? Currently, this service is available only to LIME subscribers.
Do I have to be a member of the Credit Union to use the service? Yes, TopUp & Go service from BPWCCUL is available only to its members.
How can I become a member of the Credit Union? Call our Contact Centre at (246) 430-5200 for information on how to become a member, or visit any of our branches at Broad Street, Belmont Road or Emerald City complex, Six Roads.
How do I sign-up for TopUp & Go? Sign-up is easy! Just insert your BPWCCUL Co-Optima ATM card at any BPWCCUL ATM and follow the prompts on the screen.
Can I sign-up if I don’t have an ATM card? No. In order to register for Top-Up & Go, you will need to have a Co-Optima ATM card. You can apply for a card at any branch of the Credit Union.
Can I register more than one phone number? Yes, you can register as many prepaid phones as you wish. However, you will need to complete a separate registration for each number.
Can I top-up phones other than my own? Yes. This option is available at registration.
Can I use this service to pay my postpaid mobile phone bill? No, TopUp & Go works only for prepaid mobile service.
What should I do if my mobile phone is lost or stolen? • Call your mobile service provider immediately to report that your phone has been lost or stolen. • Call the BPWCCUL Contact Centre to have your TopUp & Go service cancelled, or use your Co-Optima ATM card at any BPWCCUL ATM to cancel your TopUp & Go service. Once the phone is found or you get a new phone, you can re-register.
Who do I call if I have any other queries about this service? You may call the Contact Centre at 430-5200 between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday to have a query investigated.
How do I cancel this service? You may cancel the service at any BPWCCUL ATM. Simply insert your Co-Optima ATM card and follow the relevant prompts on the screen.
How secure is this service? Top-ups can only be made from your handset or at BPWCCUL ATM’s with a secret personal identification number (PIN) known only to you. Additionally, you can increase security by deleting your top-up requests after you make them to keep your PIN private.
Do I have access to my Credit Union accounts through this service? No. This service only allows you to request and pay for top-ups for your prepaid mobile phone(s).
Will the service notify me of my Credit Union account balance after I top-up? No. TopUp & Go only allows you to request and pay for top-ups. If you want to be able to access your account balance over the phone at any time, sign-up for our FREE Co-Optima Voice telephone banking service.
Will I see these top -ups on my Credit Union account statement? Yes, all your TopUp & Go transactions will be shown on your quarterly account statement. You may also use our FREE Co-Optima Connect internet banking service to review your transaction history online at any time.
Can I top-up my mobile phone while overseas? LIME customers can top-up by text from any Caribbean country where LIME operates. You cannot top-up from outside the Caribbean using this service.
Can I top-up from CarIFS ATM’s? No, ATM top-ups can only be done at BPWCCUL ATM’s.
Is there a limit to how much or how often I can top -up my phone using TopUp & Go? The following limits apply when using TopUp & Go: • Maximum top-up is $50.00 per request • Minimum top-up is $10.00 per request • Total top-up limit of $200.00 per day Note: LIME customers cannot request two top-ups for the same amount within a 30-minute period
